Νέο επεισόδιο την Τετάρτη 24 Ιουνίου 2026, στις 16:00 (Ώρα Ελλάδας)
Με μια νέα διαδρομή σε σημαντικούς σταθμούς του Ελληνισμού της Διασποράς επιστρέφει η εβδομαδιαία εκπομπή του ERT COSMOS «Ρίζες Abroad», την Τετάρτη 24 Ιουνίου 2026, στις 16:00 ώρα Ελλάδας. Ο Προκόπης Αγγελόπουλος και η Νατάσα Βησσαρίωνος αναδεικνύουν ιστορίες ενημέρωσης, πολιτισμού, μουσικής, παροικιακής ζωής και ελληνόγλωσσης εκπαίδευσης, από την Ευρώπη και την Αμερική μέχρι την Αφρική και την Ωκεανία.
Στο νέο επεισόδιο, η εκπομπή συνδέεται με τη Βόννη, όπου η Δήμητρα Κυρανούδη, αρχισυντάκτρια του Ελληνικού Προγράμματος της Deutsche Welle, μιλά για την επόμενη μέρα της ελληνικής υπηρεσίας και για τον αγώνα διάσωσης της έγκυρης ενημέρωσης, μετά την απόφαση για το κλείσιμο του ελληνικού προγράμματος της DW.
Η εκπομπή υποδέχεται, επίσης, τον διεθνούς φήμης ομογενή συνθέτη Τζον Ψαθά. Ο δημιουργός, που έντυσε μουσικά τις τελετές έναρξης και λήξης των Ολυμπιακών Αγώνων της Αθήνας το 2004, μιλά για τη διαδρομή του από τη Νέα Ζηλανδία στην παγκόσμια μουσική σκηνή και για τη σχέση του με την Ελλάδα.
Στο στούντιο φιλοξενείται και η Ιωάννα Σκρουμπέλου Αποστολοπούλου, εκπρόσωπος της Ελληνικής Κοινότητας του Αγίου Δημητρίου της Αστόριας, σε μια συζήτηση για τη δυναμική παρουσία της Ομογένειας στη Νέα Υόρκη. Μέσα από ιστορίες Ελλήνων της Διασποράς, η εκπομπή ταξιδεύει στη «μικρή Ελλάδα» των ΗΠΑ.
Στη συνέχεια, οι «Ρίζες Abroad» φιλοξενούν τον Ματθαίο Σανταμούρη, τον Έλληνα καθηγητή Υψηλής Αρχιτεκτονικής στο Σίδνεϋ, που αλλάζει τα δεδομένα με την αυξημένη θερμοκρασία στις πόλεις του Κόσμου.

The weekly ERT COSMOS program “Rizes Abroad” returns on Wednesday, 24 June 2026, at 16:00 Athens time, with a new journey through key centers of the Greek Diaspora. Prokopis Agelopoulos and Natasa Vissarionos bring together stories of current affairs, culture, music, community life, and Greek-language education, connecting Greek communities across Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Oceania.
In this episode, the program connects with Bonn, where Dimitra Kyranoudi, Editor-in-Chief of Deutsche Welle’s Greek Service, discusses the future of the service and the effort to safeguard reliable journalism following the decision to discontinue DW’s Greek-language programming.
The program also welcomes internationally acclaimed Greek-New Zealand composer John Psathas. Best known to Greek audiences for composing the music for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games, Psathas reflects on his remarkable journey from New Zealand to the global music stage and speaks about his enduring connection with Greece.
Joining the discussion in the studio is Ioanna Skroubelou Apostolopoulou, representative of the Hellenic Community of Saint Demetrios in Astoria. The conversation focuses on the vibrant presence of the Greek-American community in New York and the stories that continue to shape the “Little Greece” of the United States.
The episode concludes with Matthaios Santamouris, Professor of High-Performance Architecture at the University of New South Wales in Sydney. An internationally recognized expert in sustainable urban environments, he discusses innovative solutions for addressing rising temperatures in cities around the world.
